Put A Legislator In Your Pocket |
December 29, 2008

Mesa State has forged ahead with the next phase of its "Line The Pockets Of A Republican" program by hiring State Representative Steve King to a consulting contract.
King will audit the College's security plan.
There's nothing illegal about a legislator having a day job; serving in the General Assembly is, after all, a part-time job.
However, since King plans to carry a bill this term that will require all schools, colleges, and universities to have incident response plans, King's contract raises some questions.
Are security audits a product that King sells?
If so, will King be carrying a bill that directly benefits him personally?
If not, should Mesa State have hired someone more qualified? Maybe someone who actually does this stuff for a living?
Either way, King's Mesa State contract should raise not only questions, but also eyebrows. |
