Still Spinning |

Josh Penry did a little softball interview with his favorite Denver Post lapdog reporter Lynn Bartels.
Penry is still spinning his failed gubernatorial campaign, as if the real reason he dropped out wasn't that he was running second in what was essentially a two-horse race.
Worse for Scott McInnis, Penry is still talking smack about him and still hogging the limelight.
When you get the hook, you leave the stage. When you endorse another candidate, you don't run him down.
The most interesting Q&A in the interview was this one:Q: When you say you'll have another shot, that you can run again, well if Ritter were to win re-election your chance would come along four years sooner. There'd be an open governor's race in 2014.
A: You're right. You don't miss anything. Combine that answer, if you will, with Penry's smack talk and his well-known ambition. To me, it sounds like Penry wants McInnis to lose (and is helping) so that The Boy Wonder can run for an open seat when Ritter is term-limited in 2014.
Rather than dissect the rest of the interview, I'll just point you to it so you can savor it yourselves. Penry's ego, unrealistically huge for a guy who has accomplished little as a legislator, comes through loud and clear. As does the fact that he still apparently thinks he has some leverage, when in reality he lost all of his leverage the minute he quit.
And oh, Josh, I'm not sitting in my mom's basement. She died 15 years ago. I'm fully dressed, and sitting in the living room of my own home, which is fully paid for. Just so you know. |
