Senate Numbers |
February 1, 2010
|
Fund-raising numbers for Federal offices were due to the Federal Election Commission yesterday.
Although the official numbers for Senate haven't been published yet, the "whisper" numbers for the front-runners are now in.
The campaign of incumbent Michael Bennet was first out of the gate with a press release, back on January 15. Bennet reported $1.16 million raised in the fourth quarter. In total, he has now raised $4.8 million and has $3.48 million cash on hand.
Republican front-runner Jane Norton raised "nearly" $550,000, for a total of over $1,000,000. I won't know how much cash she has on hand until the FEC reports are published.
Democratic candidate Andrew Romanoff has yet to report anything official, but Colorado Statesman reporter Ernest Luning reports via Twitter that Romanoff raised $337,000 and has $479,000 cash on hand.
In my humble opinion, Romanoff should give it up. As much as I like him, he hasn't generated enough money to show that he can get elected. Bennet's money aside, Romanoff needs to at least outraise Norton. He hasn't done it. |
